The Florida Haunted Trail

Florida's haunted map runs the length of the peninsula. Spanish colonial St. Augustine and cigar-era Tampa anchor the north, the Panhandle's old plantation counties carry a heavier history, and Miami's Art Deco strip and the Florida Keys close things out to the south. Hurricanes and shipwrecks built a lot of this record; the state's real estate busts and revivals built the rest. More than three hundred entries now cover Florida end to end, in theaters, courthouses, brothels turned taverns, and bridges people still talk about after dark. The featured loop through the Tampa Bay corridor is the curated version, a single weekend instead of a statewide drive.
