The Tennessee Haunted Trail

Tennessee's haunted map runs east to west across three distinct regions, from Smoky Mountains resort towns and Knoxville's river bridges to Nashville's music-row bars and hotels, out to Mississippi River battlefields near Memphis. Old county jails and courthouses carry much of the state's ghost-story weight, alongside railroad hotels that are working businesses today, not abandoned ruins. More than 140 venues make up the network, with the East Tennessee mountain corridor the densest cluster and Middle Tennessee close behind. The featured weekend loop stays inside Middle Tennessee's Civil War corridor, from Columbia to Franklin to Nashville, a tight regional cut that leaves the mountains and the river for another trip.
