The Maryland Haunted Trail

Maryland's hauntings cluster along the water: colonial taverns and statehouse blocks in Annapolis, grand downtown hotels and a Civil War-era tall ship in Baltimore's harbor, and boardwalk hotels running the length of the Eastern Shore into Ocean City. A scattering of rural covered bridges and county courthouses fills in the gaps between the Chesapeake towns and the mountains further west. Most of what's here still operates as a business first: dining rooms, museum ships, working parishes, hotel bars. The featured loop turns that mountain corridor into one curated weekend drive.
