The Nebraska Haunted Trail

Nebraska's haunted landscape runs along its rivers and rail towns: a Chadron hotel that housed a general during the Wounded Knee investigation and an Omaha woodland carrying a century of documented crime. A rural crash-site legend outside Geneva is one of the state's most retold ghost stories. Roughly thirty stops span the state from the Panhandle to the Missouri River, more spread out than clustered, the kind of map that rewards a road trip over a weekend loop. Nebraska doesn't yet have its own trail guide. For now, the national route and its guide cover the wider Great Plains region, with this state's stops serving as documented waypoints along it.
