The Red Wing Ghost Walk was developed by American Ghost Walks owner Mike Huberty and Minnesota storyteller Dangerous Linda Lee, who the operator's site says designed the route through original research, interviews, and historical records. The tour runs as a 90-minute public walking tour on weekends at 7 PM for $34.21 per adult, including taxes and fees, meeting in front of the Red Wing Depot at 418 Levee Street. A separate, fully customizable private-group version is also available on request.
The operator's site opens its account of Red Wing with the arrival of a steamship at the Mdewakanton Sioux settlement of Red Wing in May 1823, and states that construction of the St. James Hotel's foundation later uncovered skeletal remains in a burial ground.
