According to MAHauntedHouses.com and HauntedPlaces.org aggregator entries, paranormal accounts at The Palladium center on backstage and dressing-room areas. The most commonly described phenomena are disembodied footsteps in otherwise empty corridors and a floating orb of light, described as roughly the size of a soccer ball, observed near the stage and rear areas of the main hall.

A recurring item in the directory lore is a claim that human remains were once discovered in a dressing room. This claim is repeated across haunted-place aggregators but does not appear in the Wikipedia history of the theater or in available news coverage, and so should be treated as folklore rather than documented incident.

The Palladium was investigated by TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) in the fifteenth episode of Ghost Hunters Season 2, 'Ghostly Grace & The Palladium,' which aired April 5, 2006, on SyFy. During the investigation, lead investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson reported cold spots on the third floor and detected an EMF anomaly in the dressing room. However, the team was also able to debunk several specific claims: a door that had reportedly slammed on an investigator's hand was explained by a wind draft from the fifth floor, and the soccer-ball orb of light was traced to vehicle headlights reflecting off a tin can through a window. The investigation is documented on IMDB (tt1121363) and in the Ghost Hunters Wiki. TAPS's documented presence — confirming the building's established paranormal reputation while also providing rational explanations for some phenomena — is characteristic of their Season 2 investigation style. Given the dense century of performance use, the operating concert business does not advertise paranormal tours, and visitors typically encounter the building during ticketed shows rather than dedicated investigations.
