For more than 20 years the association has run seasonal October walking tours pairing documented local history with reported hauntings, historically split between a downtown Brownsville route and a Fort Brown route covering the grounds of the former U.S. Army post, now largely occupied by Texas Southmost College. The downtown route has included the Cameron County Courthouse, where a 2004 renovation uncovered an unmarked historic cemetery beneath the building.
