Accounts from current and former staff describe paranormal activity concentrated in two areas of the resort: the corporate office wing and Room 221 on the East side.

In the office area, multiple employees have described a male figure walking through hallways, opening doors and windows without apparent cause, and producing a whistling sound. Some accounts identify this figure with the unsolved 1977 homicide of Frank Sidoti on the property. The corporate check-in and main office area has been identified in reports as a location where the presence is most often felt.

Room 221 on the East side has generated reports of a girl's screaming voice at various points during the night. No historical identity has been attached to this account. An additional report describes a dark figure seen outside Room 7B on the west side — described as black with two protrusions identified as red horns, an account that appears in a small number of submissions.

These accounts originate primarily from staff and anonymous online submissions. No formal paranormal investigation by a named organization has been documented at Steele Hill Resort, and the accounts should be treated as folklore without independent corroboration beyond the Cold Case Unit's confirmed record of the 1977 homicide in Sanbornton.
